Millennium Bowl

As the last bit of sailing for the season the Club sent a Team to Dun Laoghaire to complete for the Millennium Bowl against the Royal St George Yacht Club (host club) and the Royal Thames Yacht Club.

A team of 12 attended to compete in a 3 boat team of J80s. With a worsening forecast the organizers made the correct choice to change the event into a fleet racing competition with multiple short one lap races inside the harbour. The race management team did a great job to get 12 races completed in some pretty spicy conditions.

The RStGYC provided excellent hospitality over the weekend with the usual highlight being the Saturday Evening dinner and the 'games'.

The host Club came out on top with the RN&CYC in second and the RTYC in third.

Our team was lead by Griogair Whyte, other skippers were Nicole McPherson and Alison Morrish and crews consisting of Charles Darley, Craig MacDonald, Morna Miller, Peter Davies, Roland Birkoff, Robin Young, Kevin Aitken, Simon Reid and Jennifer.

We are looking forward to hosting this event in 2026.
