open day | 28 April 2019

open evenings | every friday in may

There's never been a better time to join the Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club!

Join us at our Open Day and start of 2019 season on Sunday 28 April 2019, from 10:00 to 16.30.

The Open Day is for kids and adults of all abilities who want to try sailing in our racing and cruising boats. Join us for a chat over tea/coffee, or a bar lunch, see our historic clubhouse and find out what we've got to offer.

This year, to give you more time out on the water trying out different sailing activities, we're offering "Fun Fridays" - these taster sessions will run from 18.00 with a couple of hours sailing followed by supper in our historic clubhouse.

As it's name suggests, the emphasis will be on having fun on the water, meeting our club sailors, learning some new sailing techniques (beginners welcome) and trying out different types of boats and sailing or racing disciplines.

All you need is warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear (we'll provide buoyancy aids) - what are you waiting for?

GET ON THE WATER

Join us for Push The Boat Out and you will have the opportunity to get out on the water on one of our nine club-owned Sonars, under the expert supervision of our experienced instructors and members.

Our Sonar and Gareloch fleets sail Tuesday evenings and weekends, and our Cadet programme (8-18 year olds) runs on Thursday evenings.

EXPERIENCE THE THRILL OF RACING!

We are an RYA-accredited training centre, and run sailing courses for young people and adults in dinghies and keelboats over the course of the year.

As you gain skills and experience, you'll have the opportunity to take part in top-level regattas - in the past year, we have raced in the UK, the United States and Monaco. In addition our members have competed in World Championships and the Olympics!

A PLACE FOR EVERYONE!

Our club caters for everyone with an interest in sailing:

  • complete beginners, whatever your age

  • experienced dinghy racers looking to transition to keelboat racing

  • cruising sailors looking to improve sail and boat trim to achieve faster boat speed, or interested in taking advantage of our mooring facilities and a launch service -  a very cost-effective way of keeping your boat on the water.

We welcome new members - if you're interested in joining the Club please come and visit us to find out more about the benefits of membership.

How do I get involved?

There’s no need to register to attend our Open Day – just turn up on the day (last admissions 15.00), dress sensibly and we'll do the rest. However, if you have any questions or want to find our more please contact us using the form below or by emailing ptbo@rncyc.com

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 28 April!

Thanks! Message sent.
