Team and Match-racing
The Club has a fleet of Sonars which allows for close, competitive sailing without the need for handicapping. Throughout the year we host various team and match-racing events including the Ceilidh Cup (match racing) and the Millennium Bowl - a biennial team racing competition between the Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club, the Royal Thames Yacht Club and the Royal St George Yacht Club. We also compete in a number of national and international events in the UK and overseas and run training sessions throughout the year to ensure our competitiveness in these events.
Gareloch OD
Designed and built by McGruer's from 1924 onwards, the Gareloch One Design Class is still going strong today. The people who sail these fine yachts are a friendly and welcoming lot, racing every Tuesday evening and Sunday afternoon throughout the summer months.
