Cadet Sailing
2022

Cadet Sailing sessions run between Easter and October and are run in conjunction with Lomond School. These sessions are run from our base at Rhu Marina where we have an extensive fleet of dinghies including oppies, toppers and fevas.

RNCYC caters for a wide range of abilities through cadets, from complete beginners to more advanced sailors working on racing techniques or seamanship and instructional skills. Cadets is open to club members, with further information on upcoming sessions issued through communications from the club office.
Cadets must have all their own personal equipment including: Full wetsuit, wetsuit boots/trainers (to get wet), rash-vest/thermal top, cagoule, (waterproof jacket), gloves, hat. A buoyancy aid is also required but can be provided if necessary.
RYA Log books can be purchased through the club office if the cadet does not already have one.

In the winter, a series of land based, mostly indoor sessions called ‘Cadet Capers’ keep our cadets busy and engaged. These involve games and activities such as journey planning, racing rules, investigating how sails work and fun first aid.

RNCYC is committed to safeguarding children taking part in its activities.
